Process :
Ironically enough, this layout was much more difficult than it looks. The original image already had sailor moon with her hair and part of her face blended into a gradient. I picked the image for this, because she looked really beautiful with it. So what I had to do is go through the difficult task of making it NOT look cut out by putting the exact same gradient around her. I played around with the gradient a lot and finally got what I wanted. However, due to me tilting the original image to give it more movement, I had to use the air brush to blend more colors in. After this I was satisfied, but I wanted something more. I cut out feathers from various Sailor Moon images I found, and then I applied lighting effects to them so they would look nice, with some different colors on each set. Then, I positioned them and wrote on them like main navigation links. I contemplated whether or not I would even need sub navigation, and decided it would be better. So I added the side navigation but wanted it to be relatively simple and colorful. The hardest part was matching all of the colors together to make it look nice. In this way it was much more difficult because rainbow gradient would make it look tacky without the proper things to balance, so I did that with the css of the colors and links, making it look less out of place. Do to solids being used here, I refused to use texture anywhere. Once I decided this, I had the problem of wondering what I would do for the layout. I was reminded of my old Little Mermaid layout, where I used Sebastian holding a plate with the site name on it. In this case, I used the disk she throws (her tiara) and applied glow and stuff to it, blending the text of the fanlisting collective title. After this I was pretty much done and just made a simple footer.
Description :
A very colorful Sailor Moon layout with lots of glitter and heavenly feeling to it. Feathers engulf the main character, and really light up everything. Links are within them. The purpose was to capture a sort of light “heavenly feature” of the series.
