Process :
This layout took about 3 hours to do, with 1 hour of coding. The reason was because extracting Chii was a huge pain, one of the few reasons that many people choose not to extract characters from CLAMP’s works. I extracted it careful, setting it to a black background, and then applied some shadow and lighting effects to brighten everything up. Following this, I extended the lamp pole to look natural into a vector, and then drew the simple buttom. Links were then added and the bottom footer was layered with different shades of blue to give a bit more detail.

Once the layout was done, it was a bit difficult coding it since it was totally in CSS and divs, but also because I had to set up different repeats, as I wanted the pole to repeat with content, having the footer on the bottom. But, after I figured it out it was pretty simple. I added the links later, since they were pretty simple, and put some light hovers. The hardest part was coding the top part of the images since I didn’t want the scrollbar to show up a certain way. After I figured it out, however, it turned out really well.
