Process :
This layout was done in about 1 hour and coding of 30 minutes since I was really busy at the time and was approaching the extension deadline for the fanlisting. But, despite this, I believe it came out really nicely. I had never had a layout that was cut off in such a way from both the top and buttom, centered as so, so it was really nice to try such a thing. I wanted the text to serve as a sort of “Cage” since I had seen something similar in this Graphics Ad in Vogue. So, I tried a similar thing. The iframe was just similar to the one found in the Robin layout since I put a bit more body and colors in it (very similar scheme as the Soge King one), that did look a bit off when the text was put in it. Since the layout was so simple and colorful, I wanted to add a nice simple overlap to it with some arrow scrollbars so it wouldn’t be too plain. This turned out to work really well since the fanlisting was not too big for the iframe to get too small for it.

Overall, I really liked how it turned out, and the repeating background, although hard to align properly, was really nice as well, since it gave more movement to it. I want to try a similar background repeat somewhere in the future.

Gon and Killua on the right hand corner, just playing around with things. Links are in the papers under Gon, tilted to make it seem like doodles. Image scrollbar with small arrows and overlaps, and links highlight with line under and red text.
