Process :This layout took longer than it looks. First, I took the image of Sarasa and screened/multiplied in order to color within the lines. Then, using the airbrush, I colored the flowers, snakes, and red things (I forgot what they’re called). The sword was cut out on the side of the original image, so I defined it as a pattern and repeated it, making it long throughout the layout. Above it I put a yellow/green sash like thing, and below wrote ‘Legend of Basara’ by applying some gradient and opacity effects. Underneath it I added the black lines, erasing it on the sides with a circle brush to make it seem less square. In the green area on the top I defined a fixed height by the rectangle tool and cut out several images from the Basara manga, opacifying it at an equal distance from each other. Underneath, I quoted some things out of the series itself. Originally, I wanted the content to go in a plain white background on the top, but I didn’t like the idea of that, so I just used the rectangle tool and made boxes, this however looked really weird, so I selected a random shape and extended the side corners to round them off. That gave me the desired effect, so I stuck with it ^_. That was about it.
Description :This layout was basically supposed to capture Basara. I wanted to make it really simple but also have a lot of things consisting within it, which is why I used several screenshots I suppose, from the manga into the greenish area. The quotes helped accomplish a basic idea of what the plot was about. I didn’t really like this layout, truthfully, as I think it was and still is, too simple and boring -_-.
